MeshNetics introduced its new ZigBit ZigBee-Ethernet gateway. The device serves as a bridge between the ZigBee-based networks and the Ethernet IP-based networks. MeshNetics ZigBee-Ethernet gateway is based on Atmel’s ZigBee/802.15.4 module which is included the ATmega 1281 microcontroller and new Atmel AT86RF230 RF transceiver

Key spec. of MeshNetics ZigBee-Ethernet gateway (preliminary):
|
- Operating Band: 2.400 - 2.483 GHz
- Antenna: 2.4 GHz (external)
- Ethernet: 10/100 Mbps
- Link Budget: 104 dB
- RF Current Consumption: RX: 19 mA; TX: 18 mA
- Operating Temperature: -40°C to +70°C
- Dimensions: 122 x 37 x 120 mm
The ZigBit Zigbee- Ethernet Gateway is an essential component of a data acquisition system by providing connectivity between based Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) with industrial LANs and Internet. The ultimate value of WSN is in the data collected from sensors; the gateway helps transfer it over the IP network and makes it readily available to a large number of users. The gateway can also be used to connect disparate ZigBee networks via a wired line.
Key features of MeshNetics ZigBee-Ethernet gateway:
- IEEE802.15.4/ZigBee Compliant
- High RF sensitivity (104 dBm)
- Powerful network management tools
- Support AT-commands
- IP65-rated case
MeshNetics offers comprehensive commissioning tools with the ZigBee Ethernet Gateway. Developers can set immediately start up the gateway, and managing the Wireless Sensor Networks via Ethernet. The WSN and IP network management is done using the set of AT-Commands. The gateway can also double as a Wireless Sensor Networks coordinator or router.
MeshNetics’ ZigBee-Ethernet gateway are showcased at the Embedded Systems Conference in San Jose, CA, on April 4, 2007.
This ZigBee-Ethernet gateway is scheduled to be available in Q3 of 2007
