About Rabbit 5000 Microprocessor

The Rabbit 5000 Microprocessor is designed specifically for embedded control, communications, and network connectivity. Extensive integrated features facilitate rapid hardware design, while a C-friendly instruction set promotes efficient development of even the most complex applications.

Rabbit 5000 Microprocessor Architecture

  • Up to 100 MHz operation
  • Support for up to 16 MB of memory
  • 24-bit address bus, 8-bit or 16-bit data bus
  • 128 KB of internal high-speed 16-bit SRAM
  • 1.8 V core and 3.3 V I/O
  • 8 DMA channels
  • 6 serial ports

The Rabbit 5000 Microprocessor provides two options for network connectivity:

  • 10/100Base-T Ethernet MAC with a standard MII PHY interface
  • Wireless 802.11b/g MAC compatible with several standard Wi-Fi transceivers

RCM5400W and RCM5450W RabbitCore modules (WiFi/802.11b/g) are available now:

  • RCM5400W RabbitCore module (Part #: 20-101-1246), price:  $119 (qty. 1), $99 (qty 100)
  • RCM5450W RabbitCore module (Part #: 20-101-1247), price: $134 (qty. 1), $111 (qty 100)

Rabbit is offering limited time promotional price for RCM5400W RabbitCore Development Kit (Part #: 101-1262). Developers can get this kit now at $147 (regular price is $299). The RCM5400W RabbitCore Development Kit includes RCM5400W microprocessor core module, development board with prototyping area, Dynamic C 10 development system and documentation, serial cable for programming and debugging, and  power adapter.

RCM5400W RabbitCore Development Kit enables developers to download the program from PC via a USB or serial port, and debug right on the target hardware (no in-circuit emulation is required). This environment reduces effort and speeds hardware and software integration. Rabbit provides an extensive library of drivers and sample programs, along with royalty-free TCP/IP stack with source.

With its Dynamic C IDE (Integrated Development Environment) Software, Rabbit integrates editing, compiling, linking, loading, and debugging into a single seamless development environment. Once the design is complete, developers can debug it on the target hardware and see how the code works. Because it is a dialect of C, the Dynamic C language has all the statements and constructions of traditional C, plus extensions that make it easier to write reliable, real-time multitasking software.
