Xilinx introduced new reference design for video-over-IP and IPTV applications. This video networking reference design is a cost effective solution for variety of video based applications such as video conferencing, CCTV, broadcast and wired/wireless IPTV applications. The new Xilinx’s solution supports multiple channels in/out, bridging between DVB-ASI - Ethernet IP packets and error correction .

Video over IP and triple-play services are set for huge growth. As with any emerging technology, flexibility is key to enable rapid adoption while retaining the ability to meet changing requirements…
…The Xilinx high-performance and optimized video-over-IP FPGA solution allows broadcast equipment providers to implement IP-capable ports in their equipment with a fast time to market. With our expanding range of solutions for the broadcast market, we are solidifying the position of Xilinx FPGAs as the key component in many professional audio and video systems.
This new Xilinx Video-over-IP and IPTV Reference Design enables very high IP bandwidth support and greater flexibility in the overall system. A key differentiator of the Xilinx video-over-IP solution is that it does not rely on a processor for implementation. Command and control can be accomplished via a simple RS232 interface.
Xilinx is going to demonstrate the Video-over-IP and IPTV Reference Design at this week's NAB, April 16-19, Las Vegas Convention Center.
