TV on Mobile (TVoM) HotPlug System Solution for Mobile System - NXP

NXP introduced the TVoM HotPlug solution (TVoM = TV on Mobile), the system solution to fulfill developers need to implement TVoM functionality in mobile systems. TVoM HotPlug solution includes hardware, software stacks for DVB-H/DVB-T and security. The NXP TVoM HotPlug system solution enable end-users to receive the rich, high quality mobile broadcasts across multiple platforms including PCs, notebook, smartphones and next-gen handphone/mobile phone.
The TVoM HotPlug delivers a comprehensive standalone TVoM system, and enables handset manufacturers to quickly introduce TV services by combining tuning, audio and video decoding features, connectivity and support for any DRM standard, with the power to support both DVB-H and DVB-T. The system solution also features the latest NXP audio and video processing technologies for enhanced picture and sound clarity.

The TVoM HotPlug is based on NXP’s BGT215 front-end solutions for TVoM and the Nexperia mobile multimedia processor PNX4105. The TVoM HotPlug provides a complete system solution requiring no extra components or processing for the system baseband. The BGT215 provides the TV tuner and channel decoder/demodulator, while the PNX4105 provides the source processing, including the power to run the DVB-H/T software stack, to decode the audio and video streams and to display video on the LCD with up to WVGA resolution.
NXP’s TVoM HotPlug system solution will be showcased at NXP Booth #1803 at CTIA Wireless in Orlando, Florida, March 27-29, 2007.
