TI is introducing its new CC2530, a 2.4-GHz RF SoC designed for IEEE 802.15.4, ZigBee, ZigBee RF4CE and Smart Energy applications. CC2530 integrates 2.4-GHz RF (radio frequency) transceiver with 8051 microcontroller core, 8 KB of RAM, 32/64/128/256 KB of Flash memory, ISP, and other peripherals. CC2530 comes in four different flash versions: CC2530F32, CC2530F64, CC2530F128, and CC2530F256. CC2530’s large flash memory enable development of multiple network protocols and allow over-the-air in-system firmware reprogramming. This chip also offers various operating modes suitable for ultra-low power applications. TI’s CC2530 2.4-GHz RF SoC is suitable for broad range of applications including ZigBee PRO networks, ZigBee RF4CE remote controls (using RemoTI stack), smart energy, home and building automation, audio-visual consumer electronics, wireless medical, and environmental monitoring.
