Si2 Announced the Analog Symbol Set and Si2oaDebug contribution for OpenAccess

Sumit DasGupta, Silicon Integration Initiative:
As OpenAccess adoption accelerates, we expect the OpenAccess Community to identify, develop, and make public new capabilities to enable the adoption process… The new OpenAccess Contribution process, recently approved by the OpenAccess Coalition, will make that possible…
The Silicon Integration Initiative (Si2) announced the first two contributions under the new Contributions Process for OpenAccess. The first is the Analog Symbol Set, which was originally transferred to Si2 _from the OpenKit Initiative. The Analog Symbol Library is a collection of 66 schematic symbols of circuit primitives for analog design, represented as OpenAccess v2.2 data_bases. The primitives include capacitors, resistors, inductors, diodes, bipolar and MOS transistors, pads, transformers, varactors, fuses, and GND and VDD supplies.

The Si2oaDebug debugging utility displays OpenAccess data _from disk or an active, run-time model, automating complete traversal of all OpenAccess Objects. Their attributes and relationships can be displayed in both batch (XML) and GUI (browser) modes. Filtering options enable usability for even large designs. The GUI dynamic HTML mode supports dynamic relationship traversal, incremental data loading, and binding across by-name associations. Si2oaDebug can be loaded into a debugging session with a fully linked executable, simplifying analysis of data-hidden information right on the command line. Si2oaDebug was developed by the Si2 engineering staff under the guidance of the OpenAccess Coalition oaDebug Working Group.
About the OpenAccess Standard and Si2
The OpenAccess Coalition is a community-driven initiative formed to enable the creation of tightly integrated flows involving best-in-class commercial and proprietary tools and intellectual property, necessary to support design of today’s complex chips. This is done through an open-standard data-access interface (API) and reference data_base implementation supporting that API. Leading electronics companies with significant investment in CAD tools and infrastructure, as well as many commercial electronic-design automation (EDA) tool providers, have embraced the OpenAccess initiative as a means to support rapid product development. The OpenAccess Coalition operates under the governance and bylaws of Si2.
