RCM4300 RabbitCore Modules with hot-swap-able miniSD cards and Security Functions- Rabbit
Posted in Favorite, Internet, Rabbit, Security, StorageOn Saturday, December 15, 2007
Rabbit introduced its new RCM4300 series of RabbitCore modules, offering
features to support complex embedded-system designs such as larger data & code
memory, web server, data encryption and secure data transmission. RCM4300 RabbitCore
module maintains the pin-compatibility with Rabbit 4000 based core modules. The RCM4300 RabbitCore module provides the capability to use up to
1GB miniSD
memory cards, which you can be swapped with another miniSD card without powering
down the module (hot-swapping). This capability is suitable for data logging and
automatic meter reading applications.

RCM4300 RabbitCore Module
Key Features of RCM4300 RabbitCore:
|
- Rabbit 4000 microprocessor running @ 58.98 MHz
- Supports up to 1GB miniSD card
- 1MB of SRAM for shared code and data
- 512K bytes of battery-backed SRAM
- Organize data with FAT file structure
- 10/100Base-T Ethernet port (RJ-45)
- 12-bit A/D converter (RCM4300 only)
- Up to 36 general-purpose I/O lines configurable
- Up to 6 serial ports
- Small size: 47 mm × 72 mm × 21 mm
Applications of RCM4300 RabbitCore include:
- Data logging
- Tank monitoring
- Automatic meter reading
- Utilities and power systems
- Instrumentation
- Factory automation
RCM4300 core module offers the designer more than 1MB of SRAM for shared code
and data to support algorithmic-intensive applications such as graphics and
encryption. This greater code space allows you to transmit data in non-critical
secure embedded applications, using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) or TLS (Transport
Layer Security) to protect the integrity and confidentiality of the
information.
RCM4300 RabbitCore Design Advantages:
- Hot-swappable mass storage
- Supports over 1MB SRAM for algorithmic-intensive applications
- Feature set and performance to implement a web-enabled graphic user
interface - Analog inputs for reading instrument and sensor outputs
- Low-cost and easily deployable platform for non-critical embedded security
Rabbit also offers development kit for RCM4300, which includes an
RCM4300 with a 512MB miniSD card, a prototyping board, accessories, and
development tools. Along with the Dynamic C integrated development software – incorporating an
editor, compiler, and in-circuit debugger – there is also the FAT file system
familiar to many programmers, RabbitWeb for creating HTML web pages, and
Rabbit’s Secure Socket Layer (SSL) utility.
Software design is
supported by a new release of Rabbit’s Dynamic C tools. Dynamic C version 10.21
includes the new Megabyte Code Support (MCS), enabling designers to use over 1M
byte of SRAM for shared code and data.
