phyCORE-PXA270 Acceleration Kit for Windows Embedded CE 6.0 - PHYTEC
Posted in Development Tools, Embedded Controller, MicrosoftOn Monday, November 5, 2007
PHYTEC announced its new phyCORE-PXA270 Acceleration Kit for Windows Embedded CE. The phyCORE-PXA270 itself is an SBC (Single Board Computer) module based on the Marvell PXA270 applications processor with XScale technology. The Acceleration Kit includes the phyCORE-PXA270 module and its carrier board; a touch screen panel and free access to Windows Embedded CE 6.0 source code BSP (Board Support Package).

phyCORE-PXA270 Acceleration Kit for Microsoft Windows Embedded CE includes:
|
- phyCORE-XScale/PXA270 Single Board Computer module
- phyCORE-XScale Acceleration Carrier Board (PCM-969)
- QVGA 3.5" LCD (HitachiTX09D71VM1CCA) with integrated touch and LED-Backlight
- PHYTEC Tool CD including SBC hardware manual, Carrier Board Hardware Manual and Controller User’s Manual
- Pre-installed Windows Embedded CE 6.0 OS image
- 180-Day Windows Embedded CE 6.0 Visual Studio and Platform Builder Evaluation CD
- Free source code access to the phyCORE-PXA270 BSP Software from Adeneo
- serial cable, Ethernet crossover cable, AC power adapter
The phyCORE-PXA270 SBC module is designed to be plugged into the Acceleration Carrier Board as well as a custom application. The Carrier Board contains the I/O connectors as well as any other interface circuitry not provided on the phyCORE module itself. Once programmed, the phyCORE module can be removed from the Carrier Board and inserted like a big chip in a target hardware application. The phyCORE-PXA270 module, combined with the Acceleration Carrier Board, provides a platform to jump start embedded designs and propel concept to prototype and finished product.
Alternate View of Acceleration Kit
The carrier board PCB can easily be cut in half, separating the display side and the connector side. The display side can then be flipped around to the backside of the connector side and bolted together. The pictures below show the kit with optional camera module (PHYTEC VM-007).
