SMP8630 Secure Media Processors
The SMP8630 Secure Media Processor family provides highly-integrated solutions for products requiring high-definition MPEG-4.10 (H.264), SMPTE 421M (VC-1), WMV9, MPEG-4.2 and MPEG-2 decoding. The Secure Media Processor architecture offers advanced content protection, supporting a wide variety of Digital Rights Management (DRM) and Conditional Access (CA) solutions. The SMP8630 family enables cost-effective solutions for consumer products such as digital media adapters, IPTV set-top boxes, Blu-ray and HD DVD players/recorders, and HDTVs.
With a built-in Digital Media Player, the NMT allows for seamless integration between your digital media and your entertainment system. An optional hard disk drive also gives the end user the ability to download content from the Internet and store it in the Networked Media Tank to watch at their leisure.

Syabas Networked Media Tank (NMT) Connectivity
The Syabas NMT provides for playback of high-definition content in a variety of formats including Microsoft WMV9 and Apple Quicktime H.264 up to 1080p and is also capable of serving such content from its built-in hard-disk via its digital living room network alliance (DLNA) compliant and CE-HTML media servers. Basic and user friendly NAS function provides for easy file access through Windows/Mac file share.
As a result of being Windows Media Connect (WMC) and DLNA compliant, it works natively and seamlessly with Windows Vista and Windows XP SP2 OS, thus requiring no additional media server software to be installed. This implementation also enables support for premium content playback with Windows DRM. Additionally, the Syabas NMT is also capable of performing P2P file downloading and playing them back later from the integrated NAS, further off-loading this function that is traditionally handled by a PC.
Syabas’s Networked Media Tank (NMT)
The Networked Media Tank (NMT) is an all-in-one network media device. It is a combination of a Digital Media Player (DMP), a Network Attached Storage(NAS) device and a Media Server. All these features are built into a single fully integrated hardware package that will allow the user to view, share and store their digital media with unrivaled ease. The NMT brings all your digital entertainment requirements together into the comfort of your living room.
The NMT supports the industry standard UPnP AV discovery protocol, giving users access to the wide range of media servers that are compliant with the DLNA specification. It is also capable of acting as a media server, allowing the user to share the media stored in the optional internal hard drive across the local area network.
The UI for the NMT is designed and presented as a HTML interface. First time users will quickly pick up and begin to use this product with ease as it is designed with a familiar and intuitive interface for easy navigation.
Playback of High Definition 1080P movies is supported by the NMT, along with most of the common and popular audio, video and image formats available on the market today. The standard set of playback modes, such as trickmodes, playpause and etc., are also fully supported, along with simultaneous display of images and playback of audio tracks.
As part of the premium online services provided by Syabas, the Networked Media Tank can connect to our Media Service Portal (MSP). The MSP is an on-line media portal hosted by Syabas to allow users to choose and view a large variety of on-line news, radio, RSS, video, weather forecasts and many other web services. The portal links to Google and Yahoo video as well, allowing the user to search and watch videos from two of the most popular on-line video sources. A good way to share photos with friends and family through the Internet via Flicker Photos, and the NMT allows the user to present their photos with background music to accompany the slide-show in the comfort of the user’s living room. All these features of the NMT combine to take it above and beyond the standard Digital Media Player and into a class of it’s own. This is truly the definitive solution for users that brings together the Consumer Internet and Home Entertainment.
