Many embedded designs for simple and low-cost applications require a small firmware size, coupled with high flexibility in terms of bidirectional I/O lines. The new microcontroller family offers up to 4-KBytes Flash program memory, 128 Bytes EEPROM, and up to 24 I/O lines.
ST7LITE49M microcontroller family is armed with integrated timer set, including dual 8-bit Lite timers with prescaler, a configurable watchdog timer and dual 12-bit Auto-Reload timers, which operate over the 250Hz to 4MHz range and provide four PWM signals with output compare function, dead-time generation, input capture, and one-pulse mode. The 12-bit timer is specifically optimized for lighting and motor control applications.
ST7LITE49M microcontroller family also includes 10-ch 10-bit ADC; 32kHz auto-wake up oscillator; a precise internal 8MHz RC oscillator; a trim-able reset circuit with low voltage detection; five power saving modes; and I2C communication interface. Those features reduce design cost and effort by eliminating the need for external circuitry.
Hardware and software development platform is available from ST and from third parties. From low cost tools such as ST's Stick Programmer, and Raisonance's Reva Evaluation kit and R-link USB Debugging and Programming Tool, to the high end STice emulator common to most ST microcontroller platforms (STM7, STM79, STM32). These platform tools are easily accessible with the free ST7 C compiler, and are supported free of charge by ST's STVD7 Software IDE.
The new ST7LITE49M microcontrollers available in an LQFP32 package for mass production and in SDIP32 for prototyping. Price is US$0.78 each (for 10K unit qty)
