Redline announced the release of RedMAX 4C Mobile WiMAX platform based on the WiMAX 802.16e-2005 standards for mobile WiMAX. The new WiMAX platform enables operators to maximize the reach and customer density required for a profitable carrier business model. Redline's new WiMAX offering is also designed to facilitate the integration of its existing RedMAX products with its RedMAX 4C technologies, providing operators a path to introduce 802.16e and evolve to technologies that incorporate 802.16m which is the WiMAX industry standard for true mobility.

Redline’s RedMAX WiMAX

The RedMAX 4C Mobile WiMAX platform supports a wide range of fixed, portable and mobile wireless services including support Voice and Video over IP, broadband Internet access used to support highly valued education, transportation, medical applications and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs)

Kevin Suitor, Redline, said:

Redline continues to lead the WiMAX industry with worldwide deployments of RedMAX, the first complete WiMAX Forum Certified system, and ongoing development of technologies that enable carriers to build multi-use networks that enable the high-revenue services demanded by customers worldwide…

The introduction of the RedMAX 4C makes Redline's WiMAX technologies available to more carriers worldwide, including Asia Pacific regions such as Japan and India where regulators are awarding licenses for WiMAX operation in the 2.5 GHz spectrum. It also enables operators with 3.5 GHz licenses to choose from additional Redline technologies to achieve their specific business and deployment objectives

Following recent interoperability testing with other WiMAX vendors, Redline's debut of the RedMAX 4C is a significant milestone in bringing true, tested 802.16e-2005-compliant products to market…

RedMAX 4C Mobile WiMAX Platform
The RedMAX 4C Mobile WiMAX platform operates in 2.5 GHz and 3.5 GHz, conforming the requirements for 802.16e Certification Wave 2, which is the WiMAX Forum's official certification program for Mobile WiMAX. RedMAX 4C Mobile WiMAX platform enables operators to realize a rapid return on their WiMAX investment.

The RedMAX 4C leverages Redline's fourth-generation technologies for TDD-based Scalable-OFDMA-based systems. TDD = Time Division Duplexing. The new Mobile WiMAX platform provides carriers with an all-IP system that incorporates open standards to provide carriers the flexibility to deliver fixed, portable and mobile services with WiMAX. The new product family includes a modular, standardized µTCA (micro Telecommunications Computing Architecture) chassis base station that is small, lightweight and easy to deploy thereby minimizing site acquisition and construction costs and speeding up site buildout timelines. RedMAX 4C will also include a suite of indoor and outdoor fixed and portable end-user devices such as mobile handsets, PDAs and laptops.

Advanced Antenna and High System Gain
The RedMAX 4C Mobile WiMAX platform incorporates advanced antenna techniques including MIMO, receive diversity techniques and high power radios up to 10W. The new Mobile WiMAX platform provides high system gains  for wide area coverage and high in-building penetration. The Mobile WiMAX platform also supports hundreds of active subscribers positioning it among the most cost effective WiMAX base station systems to deploy and operate as it allows carriers to derive the highest possible revenue from fewest cell sites. The modularity and scalability of the RedMAX 4C allows carriers to deploy one of several possible MIMO configuration options including 2×2 or 4×4 MIMO.

Support Over 250 Subscribers on a Single Base Station
Predictive Scheduling, born out of over 7 years of Redline's field experience with TDD, OFDM systems, allows the carriers to support over 250 active subscribers on a single base station sector leading to lower infrastructure build-out costs and faster time to profitability. The high system gain, high capacity RedMAX 4C reduces deployment costs by providing un-paralleled WiMAX performance to support broadband fixed and mobile wireless services.

Additional Benefits of RedMAX 4C
The modularity of the base station along with the OBSAI (Open Base Station Architecture Initiative) and software-defined radio architecture protects the carrier investment and extends the product lifecycle by allowing system upgrades to match the evolution of WiMAX. The RedMAX 4C base station incorporates OAM&P (Operation, Administration, Maintenance and Provisioning) function support including fault tolerance, performance, inventory and software management to ensure greater reliability. It also supports SNMP (simple network management protocol) interface, WiMAX MIBs (Management Information Base) and is easily managed by the Redline Management Suite or third party Element Management System.

Redline's RedMAX Family
The RedMAX 4C Mobile WiMAX platform is the latest addition to Redline's growing roster of WiMAX solutions. Redline is among the leading global companies that are bringing proven WiMAX solutions to markets around the world. Redline's RedMAX family of WiMAX solutions is the world's first complete system to receive the WiMAX Forum Certified mark for conformance to the WiMAX standards for performance and interoperability. Redline's carrier-class RedMAX Base Station (AN-100U) supports voice, video, and prioritized data traffic, enabling long-range, high-capacity wireless broadband networks. Redline's WiMAX products also include the RedMAX Indoor Subscriber Unit (SU-I) and Outdoor Subscriber Unit (SU-O) designed for enterprise and residential services.

Redline will demonstrate its The RedMAX 4C Mobile WiMAX platform at WiMAX World Europe in Vienna, Austria, May 29 to 31, 2007.
