LIS344AL Accelerometer with 3-axis Sensor - STMicroelectronics

STMicroelectronics (ST) introduced the LIS344AL, an ultra compact consumer
low power 3-axis linear accelerometer that includes a sensing element and an IC interface. The single-package approach protects a robust three-axis Micro Electro Mechanical System (MEMS) sensor and a CMOS interface chip that provides tilting and motion information, independent of
the device’s orientation.

The LIS344AL accelerometer addresses a wide range of applications including
data-integrity protection; user interface; remote device control; anti-theft
system; intelligent motion-based power management; health and sport 
monitoring devices.

The LIS344AL accelerometer provides shock survivability up to 10,000g. It
estimates acceleration values at a very low noise level with minimized power
consumption, which is especially critical in battery-operated portable systems.

The LIS344AL accelerometer offers a full-scale output range of +/-3.5g. The
built-in self-test facility allows the user to verify both the mechanical and
electrical parts of the device. The accelerometer uses ST’s ECOPACK lead-free
technology for RoHS-compliance.

The LIS344AL accelerometer is capable of measuring accelerations over a
maximum bandwidth of 2.0kHz. The device bandwidth may be reduced by using
external capacitances. A self-test capability allows the user to check the
functioning of the system.

The LIS344AL accelerometer is available in Land Grid Array package (LGA) and it
is guarantee to operate over an extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
