Features LIS244AL Two-Axis Analog Accelerometer:
- ± 2g full-scale
- High shock survivability (10000g)
- Output voltage, offset and sensitivity are
- Factory trimmed device sensitivity and offset
- Embedded self test
- ratiometric to the supply voltage
- Single voltage supply operation
- ECOPACK lead-free compliant
The LIS244AL accelerometer incorporates dual-axis MEMS sensor (Micro Electro Mechanical System) and a CMOS interface chip that provides two simultaneous and real-time analog outputs: one for side-to-side (lateral) and one for forward-backward (longitudinal) directions.
The sensing element of LIS244AL is manufactured using a dedicated process developed by ST to produce inertial sensors and actuators in silicon. The IC interface is manufactured using a CMOS process that allows high level of integration to design a dedicated circuit which is trimmed to better match the sensing element characteristics.
ST's LIS244AL accelerometer offers a full-scale output range of +/-2.0g. The built-in self-test facility allows the user to verify both the mechanical and electrical parts of the device.
The LIS244AL analog accelerometer is capable of measuring accelerations over a maximum bandwidth of 2.0kHz. The device bandwidth may be reduced by using external capacitances. A self-test capability allows the user to check the functioning of the system.
The LIS244AL analog accelerometer provides acceleration values at a very low noise level with minimized power consumption. The LIS244AL is housed in an inexpensive 4 x 4 x 1.5 mm3 plastic package to fit in a variety of space-constrained applications and its ultra-compact robust design provides shock survivability up to 10,000g.
ST's LIS244AL accelerometer is available at US$2.3 each at 10K pieces.
