Image Sensors for Camera Phones - Micron
Posted in Mobile Devices, Sensor, Camera, ImageOn Saturday, March 3, 2007
Micron Technology introduced new CMOS image sensors for next-generation camera phones. The image sensors resolutions are 5, 3 and 1.3 megapixels.
The 5-megapixel image sensors fits into a 1/3.2-inch optical format and captures video at 60 frames per second (fps) at 720p and 30 fps at 1080p for high-definition video capture.

The 3-megapixel image sensors fits into the standard camera phone 1/4-inch optical format and captures VGA video at 30 fps.
The 1.3-megapixel image sensors is a completely integrated camera system on chip and fits into an ultra-tiny 1/11-inch optical format. This sensor also captures VGA video at 30 fps.
About Micron Technology:
Micron is one of the world's leading providers of advanced semiconductor solutions. Micron manufactures DRAMs, NAND flash memory, CMOS image sensors, and memory modules for use in consumer products, networking and mobile products.
Sampling of the image sensors is planned to be available in first and second quarter 2007.
