Fujitsu introduces MB86R11 “Emerald-L” 2D/3D Graphics SoC

Fujitsu has announced product-samples availability of the Fujitsu MB86R11 “Emerald-L”, a 2D/3D Graphics chip with an integrated Graphics Dis2.0-compliant). The graphics core features a unified shader array and 16 parallel floating point units. Three independent display controller units (DCUs) built inplay Controller (GDC) and Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). The MB86R11 is build upon the Fujitsu MB86298 ‘Ruby’ graphics processor and powered by ARM Cortex A9 processor (400MHz) and powerful graphics core (OpenGL to the graphics core support up to five displays total and four independent video-capture inputs. The MB86R11 “Emerald-L” is equipped with many peripherals including Ethernet, USB 2.0, Most, IDE66, ADCs and DDR2/DDR3-800M memory controller. MB86R11 also incorporates many advanced automotive and safety features, including support for the Fujitsu 360° Wrap-Around Video Imaging Technology. A flexible Signature Unit offers automotive system developers a powerful way to verify data integrity and enhance safety.

The MB86R11 “Emerald-L” supports four independent videocapture inputs. Video can be captured in PAL, NTSC, RGB and 720P HD formats. Powerful visual effects can be created from the captured video by using it as a “texture” for other graphical elements or by enhancing it with overlaid graphics.

The Fujitsu 360-degree Wrap-Around Video Imaging Technology is a 3D imaging technology that provides a 360-degree view of a vehicle’s surroundings. It uses advanced 3D algorithms to synthesize images from four cameras to recreate a seamless, 3D omnidirectional view of a vehicle’s surroundings.
