EnOcean has released the EVA 120C, an evaluation kit for its STM 110 solar-powered wireless sensor module that do not require batteries or external power. The evaluation kit helps developers to quickly build variety wireless sensor applications.
EVA 120 Evaluation Kit contains:
- Evaluation board
- USB adapter
- STM 110 solar-powered wireless sensor module.
The evaluation board is designed to allow easy evaluation of STM 110 product features and to support the development of customer specific products based on STM 110. The evaluation kit also includes data sheet, manual and user notes.
EnOcean EVA 120 Evaluation Board
The EVA 120 Evaluation Kit enables designers to simulate STM performance, to understand results and develop application-specific wireless sensor products based on EnOcean technology. The board includes buttons and opto- coupler inputs for immediate wake-up useful in even- driven applications. Additional buttons trigger a LEARN telegram to assign the sensor to networks. Plug-in jumpers are provided to set cyclic wake and transmit times, as well as to wire-in digital inputs. Also included are potentiometers to simulate analog inputs, and a LED display to verify successful telegram transmission. The Kit connects to a PC via RS232 or USB interface for direct evaluation by PC software, or to enable additional module configuration, and control inputs and measurement outputs for charge and discharge cycles.
Main features of the EnOcean EVA 120C evaluation board:
|
- Supply of STM 110 via solar cell, battery or external power supply
- Optical interface for WAKE inputs
- Push-button connected to WAKE inputs
- Push-button to initiate learn telegram
- External control of charge / discharge cycles
- RS232 interface and USB adapter for configuration of the module
- Potentiometers to set analog values, jumpers for digital inputs
- Jumpers for setting wake and transmit cycles
- Transmission indicator LED
- Buffered measurement of V_SC1 and V_SC2
- Temperature range –25°C / +65°C
The STM 110 module integrates a wireless sensor, low power radio, solar cell power generator, microcontroller and ultra low power sleep timer and threshold detector for energy management. All module elements have been optimized to work together.
STM 110 Wireless Sensor Transmitter Module
The RF transmitter module STM 110 (replaces STM 100 in May 2007) enables the realization of wireless and maintenance free sensors. The STM 110 makes possible to build a scalable and continuously adaptable sensor networks that can transmit data on temperature, humidity, pressure, gas, light levels, vapor, current, water, location, occupancy and other parameters. It can communicate with multiple receivers, allowing flexibility in designing sensor networks.
Power supply is provided by a small solar cell. An integrated energy store allows unrestricted functionality for several days in total darkness. Three 8 bit ADC inputs and 4 digital inputs facilitate multifunctional detector systems, based on application specific passive sensing components. This allows easy and comfortable monitoring of voltages, currents, position, temperature, pressure, illumination, etc.
EnOcean STM 110 Wireless Sensor Transmitter Module
The dimensions of STM 110 Wireless Sensor Transmitter Module are 0.8 in. by 1.6 in. by 0.4 in. (21 mm x 40 mm x 9 mm).
STM 110 Wireless Sensor Transmitter Module provides a configurable cyclic wake up (every 1, 10 or 100 sec.). After wake up a radio telegram will be transmitted. In case of no relevant input change a sign of live is sent after a user configurable number of wake-ups (every wake up, every 10th or every 100th) to announce all current values. A wake up via switch over of two wake pins is also provided. A change of wake pin status will instantly force the module to check all current analogue and digital input values. In this case a radio telegram will be transmitted regardless of a change of input values.
The STM 110 Wireless Sensor Transmitter Module serves the 868 MHz air interface protocol (A 315 MHz variant – STM 110 C – is also available). Together with the receiver modules RCM120 and RCM 130 this module can be easily implemented into operation and control units for realization of various application specific system solutions.
