MagnaChip announced MC521EA and MC511EA CMOS image sensors for the mobile phone camera.
The MC521EA is a 1/4 inch 2 megapixel CMOS sensor with integrated image processing, OTP and NVRAM. This device features Mobile Industry Process Interface (MIPI ) port and GPIOs, which can be used to support autofocus, and other camera functions. The MC521EA additionally features an on-board ARM7TDMI core that can be programmed with different algorithms for auto-function control.

The MC511EA is a 1/5 inch 1.3 megapixel CMOS sensor, offering the same image processing and control functions as the MC521EA and enables modules as small as 6×6×4mm and a single 2.8V working voltage.
The EA series feature MagnaChip’s third generation image processing architecture, which includes positional lens vignetting correction, multi-zone evaluative automatic exposure control, noise adaptive edge enhancement and many other advanced features normally seen only in advanced digital still cameras. EA series also offerlow noise 12-bit ADC and low light sensitivity make these products ideal for video applications and those requiring high quality imaging in low ambient light levels.
Samples of MC521EA and MC511EA image sensors are available now.
