Posted in Development Tools, Mobile Devices, InternetOn Monday, December 1, 2008
Qualcomm recently announced the availability of its Brew Mobile Platform (Brew MP) SDK (Software Development Kit). The new SDK enables developers to rapidly create new applications, widgets and custom user interfaces for mobile devices. Brew MP SDK integrates Adobe Flash technology, which allows developers using popular Adobe’s content and web development tools (such as Adobe Flash anumation) to create new applications for mobile devices.
Brew MP is a mobile operating system platform that supports mobile devices across virtually all market tiers and across 3G technologies. Brew MP is open and works with any software ecosystem throughout the global operator and OEM community. Developers can extend Brew Mobile Platform’s APIs and functionality beyond what is shipped by Qualcomm. Developers can even access these extensions from any language supported by the Brew MP including Flash C/C++, ActionScript and Lua embedded scripting language.
