Cirrus Logic introduced the CS49700, a single-chip audio processor. The processor supports Dolby Digital and DTS surround-sound standards. The processor is prepared for next-generation HD-DVD and Blu-ray formats with up to six surround-sound audio algorithms, including DTS, DTS Master, DTS High Resolution, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby TrueHD.

CS49700 audio processor is based on a 32-bit dual-core architecture, able to generate parallel processing power of  300 MIPS. The CS49700’s hardware and software are optimized for audio processing to provide more efficient,  requires less memory and small power consumption.

The CS49700 audio processor also offers such post-processing algorithms as Dolby Pro Logic IIx, DTS 96/24, Neo:6, MPEG, AAC, SRS Circle Surround II, Dolby Headphone, Dolby Virtual Speaker, SRS Tru-Surround XT and THX Ultra2, which are built into the IC’s on-chip ROM.

The CS49700 audio processor also support the HDMI 1.3 interface, the digital audio/video interconnect standard that is used to send digital audio and video signals among home theater equipment.

The CS49700 audio processor is shipped in a 144-pin LQFP and priced at $7.50 each at 100K of qty.
