STMicroelectronics announced the M24M01, a new 1-Mbit serial EEPROM, which is available in very small  SO8N package (3.8mm width).

Feature and specification of the M24M01, 1-Mbit serial EEPROM:

  • I2C Compliance, 100 kHz and 400 kHz clock
  • Operating voltage: 1.8V to 5.5V
  • Organized as 128-Kbits x 8, supports Byte and Page Write modes,
  • Write time of 256 Bytes in less than 5ms.
  • Input noise filter to protects against spurious Write operations.
  • Data retention: more than 40 years
  • Write Endurance: more than 1 million Write cycles.
  • Operating temperature: -40 to +85 degrees C
  • Uses ST's advanced 0.18-micron EEPROM process technology to achieve its high density
  • Tiny SO8N (3.8mm width)

Sample is available now in both SO8N and SO8W RoHS-compliant packages. Volume production will be available on February 2007.
